Roof Expansion Joint Cover waterproofing- what you must know(一)

As we know, roof expansion joint waterproofing is a very important and big point in the installtion of expansion joint covers.

In this article, we just want to emphasize one point which is the watproofing beam.

The leaking problem reson:

As we know, usually there is a big area for roof. Because this area is exposed. The floor drain is very easy to be  clogged by the sand and dust.  When raining, the whole roof will be full of water. The water will go small gap in the brick, end gap of the parapet wall and enter the insulating layer and stop there. If there is no waterproofing beam, or bad waterproofing beam with small gap, there will be leaking. 

The solution we recommend:

Th most important is the waterproofing beam. No gap between beam and concrete. It's better if the waterproof beam and the roof concrete can be poured together. If it cannot be done one time, before pouring the waterproof beam, the bottom must be ground rough and bonded rebars. Basic level must be watered, and brushed by  interface agent again and again to make sure rough. The concerte No. must be the same with the roof concrete. The vibration must be close-grained and avoid voids and pits.
