Limitations

The center plate sits lower than the surrounding finishes. When the joint width is too narrow, it creates a recessed groove that looks visually inconsistent.

When the joint width exceeds 250 mm, it becomes impractical to use an aluminum alloy center plate. Alternative materials for the center plate often result in noticeable color differences with the cover plate.

The plate surface moves with temperature changes and pedestrian traffic. Over years of use, wear on the center plate may also cause color mismatch.
