Limitations
Center Plate Recess Creates Visual Groove
The center plate sits lower than adjacent finishes. In narrow joints, this forms a visible recessed groove that may interrupt the visual flow of the floor.
Width Limitations & Color Matching
The aluminum center plate becomes impractical for joints wider than 250 mm. Alternative materials can lead to noticeable color differences with the cover plates.
Surface Wear & Movement Discoloration
Repeated pedestrian traffic and thermal expansion may cause the center plate surface to shift and wear over time, potentially resulting in visible color mismatch.
