Limitations

Limited weather resistance of elastomeric filler: The elastic gel filler has moderate weatherability. Over time, as the gel ages, a visible crack may develop between the base and the filler under tension, affecting the aesthetic appearance.
Limited movement capacity: When the rubber strips are compressed or stretched, they may bulge or sink, creating an uneven surface that detracts from appearance. This effect becomes more pronounced with wider strips required for larger movements.
Lower durability than metal: Rubber strips have a shorter service life and typically need replacement after a few years of use.
